The Art of the Phone Call
The beginning of telecoms
Imagine if Alexander Graham Bell, the inventor of the telephone, could see his invention in the world today!
A world of communication that has grown to the point where everyone has a personal mobile phone with them most of the time, turned nearly full circle all the way back to written communication again, albeit via email rather than letter these days.
Mr Bell gave people a means to orally communicate over long distances, liberating them from the limitations and time constraints of writing letters and bridging time zones instantly around the world. Up until the 1980’s the telephone was the dominate means of communication.
Today’s Communication Systems
Today’s generation have gotten to a point where a whole day will pass without hearing the sound of their own or another person’s voice. SMS, chats, e-mails and texts are the modern man’s preferred method of communication. Text based messaging is a $585 billion dollar industry and is still ringing with new developments each year, however texting is less spontaneous than speech and makes is hard to convey emotion.
Relationship Building is Our Number One Priority
Phone calls help build up relationships and create an environment whereby knowledge can be shared and communicated in a clear, effective manner. This is great for business.
It has led our professional telesales teams to learn to fine tune their skills and perfect “small talk” capabilities so as to maximise on networking. One needs to allow the passion and excitement of the product to be expressed to the person on the other side of the phone whilst understanding that listening is more important than speaking. This allows us to seize the opportunity to answer the actual need the potential client has, rather than the preconceived need.
Team Telemarketing has such experienced agents who have spent years paying attention to each call they have made. We’ve cultivated the art of the phone call so well that we understand and recognise many unique characteristics and non verbal indicators in clients, making us the right team to entice clients, set up appointments, make sales and effectively close deals for your business.
