Telemarketing in Hard Times
It’s pretty safe to say that economy is not where we want it right now and sales for most products and services have been down because people are just strapped for cash these days and are only paying for items they really need. This doesn’t mean you should cease telemarketing efforts though.
There are various ways to achieve sales success in these tougher times:
1. Offer special deals. Touch base with previous customers that you’ve had who you haven’t heard from in awhile and offer them something special. This could include a discount such as a certain percentage off their purchase or free delivery.
2. Offer free items. Who doesn’t like free? Let your prospect know that if they place an order of a certain amount that you will give them a free item. Make sure that the item will be at least somewhat useful to them. Giving out samples of some of your best-selling products would be an example of a free promotional item.
3. Offer appointments for sales representatives to visit companies and look at ways of saving money on existing service or supply contracts.
To entice customers to buy right now you need to offer them more and for less money whenever possible. Everybody enjoys discounts and special deals or private offers, especially in hard economic times. Telemarketing is of course the ideal way to quickly reach an existing customer base or new contact list to offer such deals.
