Technology improves work prospects for visually impaired.
Computer technology now gives those with visual impairments a better chance of getting employment. On screen enhancements have been around for years giving the user the opportunity to change text size, colour and the inclusion of on screen keyboards. Improvements in voice recognition technology give those with a visual impairment even more access to better jobs. More and more companies are now aware of accessibility making their websites accessible to the visually impaired with the inclusion of features such as alternative text and the use of WC3 sites to validate their websites comply to Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI) standards.
