Motivating Your Telemarketing Team Remotely

More than half of the UK workforce has been put on furlough, worked remotely or been made redundant during the global pandemic, with many of those who work remotely, still working from home. Telemarketing is an industry where those who choose the profession will need to be very self motivated and focused, which can be difficult whilst working from home. There are many ways you can continue to motivate your telemarketing team remotely.

Morning Meets Should Be Light

You should be having regular communication with your telemarketing team, and many businesses find that the best time to have meetings are at the beginning of the working day versus during or at the end of the day. Morning meetings should be light on the team, inspiring motivation and encouraging a focused work day ahead. The aim shouldn’t be too offload heavy amounts of information and overwhelm your team whilst they’re working remotely, but to keep them on track, give them an opportunity to share working techniques or concerns and motivate for the day and week ahead.

Make Sure Everybody Has Good Working Access To Tech & Systems

Ensuring that every member of the team can deliver high quality work whilst remote is essential, and can be achieved easily when everyone has good working access to software and technology they would be using in the office. This may be providing equipment such as headsets and PCs, or giving access to a system software for the team to use at home that either is the same as the software in house or creating a remote working software system that is easy to access for employees.

Further Encourage Personal Development

You may find that your team has less work to do than usual and periods where they aren’t making or taking calls, so it would be a good idea to use this time to offer opportunities for employees to work on personal development within their work, which will not only motivate and inspire them to deliver better quality work, but will develop their skills needed to achieve results in telemarketing.
